Partner Agencies

In order to make the best possible use of our resources and to extend help to as many as possible, we partner with our neighboring agencies, Catholic Charities’ Tioga Outreach Center and the Salvation Army. We often collaborate on financial aid requests. For example, if one family has a NYSEG shutoff and needs $900 to avoid loss of services, all three agencies may, upon request, be able to assist with $300 each, lessening the expense on any one agency.

As partners, we meet bi-monthly with representatives from Catholic Charities' Tioga Outreach Center, the Salvation Army, and the Tioga County Department of Social Services. This has proven to be a wonderful vehicle for communication and collaboration.

Owego Kiwanis

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time. Kiwanis empowers people at every stage of life to become competent, capable and compassionate leaders by helping them learn to help others. Service is at the heart of every Kiwanis club and the Owego Kiwanis Club is no stranger to this aspect of community life. Our local club sponsors Owego Radio Days as its primary fundraiser. Funds are then utilized to support the Tioga County Boys and Girls Club, the Waterman Conservation Center, Owego Gymnastics and other organizations.

Tioga County Rural Ministry is one such organization which receives tremendous support from Kiwanis. Members assist in a variety of ways, including, among other things, providing financial support, adopting a family at Christmas, sponsoring, along with other service organizations, an annual Pancake Breakfast TCRM benefit at the Owego Moose Lodge, and assisting with our seasonal clean-up days for senior citizens.

The Owego club also sponsors service Key Clubs at Owego Free Academy and Candor High School. Teen participants also assist TCRM with food drives, help at our Pancake Breakfast fundraiser and at our seasonal clean-up days for seniors.

Kiwanis members meet weekly on Thursday afternoons at noon at the Parkview Restaurant. All are welcome to join! Sr. Mary is a member of Kiwanis and is so appreciative of Kiwanis’ support for all of our endeavors.

Chamber of Commerce

We are members of the Tioga County Chamber of Commerce whose mission is “to be a catalyst in the support and promotion of the commercial and civic well-being of Tioga County.” This excellent organization affords us many opportunities to interact and network with area businesses. Sr. Mary serves on the Board of Directors.
