The biggest unmet need which we address is food security. Our pantry and the Open Door Mission pantry serve Owego residents only, with a supply of food, good for three meals a day for 3 days. Our guests can come to us once every thirty days. We are the only pantry in the area that is open 5 days a week. Each geographic area of the county has a pantry designated for its residents. If guests come to us from outlying areas, we always serve them that day and then refer them to the appropriate pantry to which they should go. We distribute cards with contact information for each county pantry. In our pantry anyone who comes seeking food is welcome. Families need not meet any income requirements.
